        animals we helped.

The Franklin Park Zoo is a community resource
and recreation center managed by the nonprofit
Zoo New England. The Zoo is seriously under-
staffed and under-funded, so needs help making
its children's zoo landscaping more inviting to the
public. Volunteers must be age 12 or older and
be able to lift 15 lbs (although lifting will
not necessarily be required). PMD volunteers
have assisted the Zoo every year since 1993.
Includes free admission (usually $17/adult) and
option to spend five hours exploring the zoo.

HOW We need 15 volunteers* so will accept sign ups
on a first come, first served basis.
        Register by 5/30 at
        http://s.zoomerang.com/s/pmd060813

        Incomplete submissions cannot be honored.
Individuals may only sign up themselves
(and may not reserve spaces for others).
Participation is required for the entire
        project time span.

WHO People Making a Difference (PMD) is a nonprofit
        organization that promotes informed and
        responsible volunteerism by involving people
in tangible, hands-on work that meets
local needs and by assisting companies
and charities in building successful community
        involvement programs that:
      * Produce appreciable results while
        conserving recipients' limited resources,
      * Educate volunteers about broader issues,
      * Bring people together to make a difference.

"The one process now going on that will take millions of years
to correct is the loss of genetic and species diversity by
the destruction of natural habitats. This is the folly our
descendants are least likely to forgive." -E.O. Wilson
