WHEN Easter Sunday, April 20
         10:00 AM to 2:30 PM

WHERE Northeastern University, Dorchester & Mattapan

WHY For elderly people who have little or no
         family involvement and very limited
financial means, plus cannot leave their
apartments due to disabilities and weather,
weekends and holidays in particular can be
         very lonely. Fortunately, Little Brothers-
Friends of the Elderly, a nonprofit,
         nonsectarian charity, relieves isolation
and loneliness among the elderly. Little
Brothers, founded on the philosophy of
nurturing the spirit as well as the body,
needs volunteers to make Easter visits
since this is the most difficult time of
year for them to recruit enough people for
         all the requested visits.
Since affordable housing for poor elders on
fixed incomes is becoming increasingly rare
in central Boston, we particularly need
people with cars to participate so that
they can drive from Northeastern University
with hot meals for elders who live 5-6 miles
away in Dorchester and Mattapan. PMD pairs up
volunteers to visit three elders together.
(Note: Minors must be paired with adults.)

This project is appropriate for youth
         accompanied by an adult.

All PMD volunteers must participate in all
the visits and the lunch (where we share
our experiences) for the entire project
         time span.

HOW Sign up yourself online BY 4/11 at https://s.zoomerang.com/s/pmd042014

PMD volunteers will be assigned as pairs to
visit three, specific elders and then will gather together
to share their experiences over a late, dim
sum lunch. (PMD will assign individuals into pairs,
OR you can indicate the volunteer with whom
you want to be paired.) Subsidized lunch
         participation is required-This project will
         conclude at 2:30 PM.

All volunteers must comply with state criminal
record check requirement through Little Brothers
Boston, unless they have done so in the past.
The authorization form is online at
         and must be downloaded, completed,
initialed or signed, and scanned and
emailed to Lori at pmd.org no later than 4/11.

Incomplete or late submissions cannot be honored.

After you register online, you should see a confirmation screen,
but you will NOT receive any confirmation email, so please
remember to reserve this date and the full
time span on your calendars. Then the week before
the project PMD will send detailed directions
and campus map to the meeting place at Northeastern
University (by public transit and by car), what to
         expect, and a waiver form.
